Here’s an event of many stories!
First of all, Beto’s Burrito is a children’s picture story book written in collaboration by Tom McDaniel and his daughter Cassie McDaniel, and beautifully illustrated by Cassie as well! The story behind how the book came together was most inspiring, as father and daughter have not spoken to each other for many years and this book has brought them together in many ways! Their project also goes to help others as well, as 50% of all proceeds goes towards CAMH Foundation (Centre for Addiction and Mental Health).
The story how I came to meet Cassie and got on board with this event is interested as well! I’ve previously met Ray Kao (of The Work Republic) and Bonnie Lui (of Bonnie Lui Events) from Paintlounge, and they met Cassie at the Gladstone Hotel during a speed-networking night and kept in touch through Twitter and such. The power of networking and bringing awesome people together!
