It’s the Year of the Dragon!
This Chinese New Year presentation at Markville Mall in Markham was a bit of a impromptu photo shoot, passing by and just happened to have two lenses and my camera with me. Just using what I have!
Fun and games for a baby shower, from word scrambles to raffle prizes and the classic musical chairs!
Musical chairs!
Cute reaction when her friend (on left) tells everyone she’s having twins!
It wasn’t very long ago where I was at Ann and Ray’s wedding as their photographer, and now its for their baby shower!
Friends and family joined them for an afternoon of treats, games and fun!
The wonderful world of Winnie The Pooh was the theme of the party and yes there was honey given out as prizes!
Guests were asked to bring in their baby photo for a matching game. They had to go around the party room trying to match faces to their photos!
Next game was “What would Ann and Ray’s baby look like?”. We had a random set of baby photos, scissors and glue, and baby faces. Best ones were voted by Ann and Ray! Strangely, many thought the baby would be born with a 5 o’clock shadow.
The Diaper Challenge: 5 were volun-told to choose a diaper, and eat the contents!!!! Yummy!
A photo booth was set up to provide some good memories for years to come! The photo booth even had a Fuji Instax Instant Film camera! Polaroid memories!
The Yellow Brick House provides emergency shelter and urgent help for women and children who are victims of domestic abuse and violence. It is funded as a United Way agency, receives funding from all levels of government and private donors to maintain their programs, shelters and outreach efforts in the community.
Yoga Fest brings the York Region community together to raise funds for a new shelter in Markham, with several Yoga and Pilates instructors leading sessions for friends and supports of the Yellow Brick House. As Yoga Fest took place on Mother’s Day morning, and it was clearly a great family event as kids joined in on Yoga workshops as well!
VA-Photography provided Event Videography, photography was provided by Ivan Leung and Domenico Morrone as part of the Black’s Photography Event Team.

I borrowed an Olympus EP-2 with a 35mm f2.8 for a night. It was cold and windy.
This is all I have.
Next time I’ll remember to bring gloves.

Street Lights and Heavy Fog are what created today’s blog entry. I was getting out of my car to go enter my home, but saw an opportunity to take a few quick snaps since I had a camera in my car anyways.
Here it is, another November entry.
November in the photography world is like the middle sibling in the family. September and October are months for fantastic fall colours, comfy crisp air and Thanksgiving weekend dinners. And before Fall is May June July August, months of vacationing, road trips, beaches, camping and other fun events. After November is the Holiday season and snow in December January February (sometimes March), when everyone is happy, joyful, world peace and love.
So what does November get? There’s no snow (yet), no holidays, no big events.
I’ll see what I can find but here’s what I have so far. More to come!
