The Yellow Brick House provides emergency shelter and urgent help for women and children who are victims of domestic abuse and violence. It is funded as a United Way agency, receives funding from all levels of government and private donors to maintain their programs, shelters and outreach efforts in the community.
Yoga Fest brings the York Region community together to raise funds for a new shelter in Markham, with several Yoga and Pilates instructors leading sessions for friends and supports of the Yellow Brick House. As Yoga Fest took place on Mother’s Day morning, and it was clearly a great family event as kids joined in on Yoga workshops as well!
VA-Photography provided Event Videography, photography was provided by Ivan Leung and Domenico Morrone as part of the Black’s Photography Event Team.

I had an opportunity to film and produce a Behind the Scenes video for Clifton Li Photography for a Martial Arts themed shoot. The whole idea of Martial Artists performing stances and moves with water comes from Clifton’s love for Hong Kong Martial Arts cinema and using water to highlight power and finesse of these artists.
Clifton collaborated with Team 2X to execute a series of ideas and shots. The next challenge is to provide the technical ability to freeze motion of the water, that’s where Clifton’s Broncolor Scoros came into play. Firing up to 3200w/s power and the ability to fire as fast as 1/8000th of a second, the Scoro system brings Clifton’s ideas to life.
Check out the video and photos from the shoot.

Paintlounge was filled with the sounds of a local Jazz Trio with Eldwin, Brendan and Corey with some favourite tunes, including my favourite “Take Five” from Dave Brubeck/Paul Desmond! I used to play the piano part for Take Five when I was in the high school Jazz Band billions of years ago.
Clara Chan brought laughs and smiles with a great mix of pop covers and her own original songs! Paintloungers were singing along to “Friday”!
Check out the photos and a video below!

I met Arlene Paculan from Paintlounge’s Colour Me Acoustic Live Music series and she invited me down to a live music night at The Smiling Buddha Bar to a show she produced. Proceeds of the show went to the Toronto Arts Foundation and it was a great night of local talent!
Artists of the night:
- Iman Wain
- The Lesson
- Arlene Paculan
I had to slip out early but the last song I just had to make a quick video of because it was an awesome mash up! Apologies for the shaky video, I was unprepared for the sudden surge of awesomeness.
