At VA-Photography, our concept is sweet and simple: capture the everyday to help others see life in a whole new way. (the rhyme was not intentional)
We often don’t take notice of things around us, and it is our goal to introduce you to a new way of looking at things under a different light. We hope you enjoy our everyday images, and also encourage you to share some of your moments as well.
Here’s some tips on how to do it:
1. Bring your camera everywhere you go. Get in the habit. a great photo-op can happen in the most unexpected places at unpredicted times. always have a camera handy to take a snap shot of these moments.
2. Make photo sharing easy. Photo sharing doesn’t have to be hard! Sign up for a free Flickr account or even start a WordPress blog to host your photos. These sites have been designed for ease of use and will have you up-and-running in under 5 minutes.
3. Tell a story. Try to capture the day’s event in a single photo. If you were to write a story of your life/day, what photo would you use as its cover?
4. Don’t think, just do it! There will be times when you’ll think there’s nothing interesting left to take a photograph of – but there’s always a great photo to be made. Take a minute and have a look around you – are there objects on the desk? a view out of the window? Don’t over-think it.

Evergreen Brickworks (http://ebw.evergreen.ca/) is a special little spot where nature meets the city. Its also an extremely popular spot for portrait and wedding photographers as it provides an unique environment not found in a typical park or city sidewalk. A bit of both.
This photo was taken during a wedding I worked as a cinematographer (second shooter) for the day. Here’s the wedding
Little Henna Hands.
I ran a pre-school March Break Camp and we invited one of the parents of the campers to share Henna with the rest of the kids. For us older folk, it was a wonderful sharing of cultures and tradition. As I was told, whenever there is a happy occasion, Henna is done. For the younger folks, its all awesome and that’s all that matters to them.
