About Me
Hello, I am Veronica
TOKYO PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHER
Having had just a handful of old black and white photographs of myself as the only reminder of places, events and people from my own childhood, I always felt they are a scarce gift that keeps appreciating with a passage of time.
Photography gives us a powerful way to re-live some of the most cherished moments of our lives. We pass them down from generation to generation keeping our stories alive. My passion lies in capturing raw, emotional story of my family in an artful and cinematic way so that my children always have those beautifully captured memories in abundance.
As I continue to do so, I share my passion for photography with others and help them to preserve their own unique and precious moments with the same care and artistry that I apply to my personal work.

A little more about
how I work and my photography style
I came into portrait photography from essentially being a landscape and travel photographer and it affects greatly how I approach my portrait photoshoots.
Although ultimately I shoot candidly, I place a huge emphasis on composition and background. I always begin by scouting the location for the best backdrop before introducing my subjects into it. I often use foreground and background to create depth and add a three-dimensional quality to my images making the background an integral part of the image rather than just a setting.
I pay meticulous attention to every element in the frame. From the texture of the landscape to the interplay of colours, every aspect is harmonized to enhance the overall composition and make sure the portrait is visually pleasing.
My photography can be characterized by a dark, dramatic style that brings an emotive depth to each image. I am drawn to the interplay of geometry, shadows and light, creating moody and atmospheric images. In post-processing, I edit in a dark key, enhancing the rich contrasts and deep tones.
